Sustainability

ALS existing fleet consists of the latest MAN Tractors and Schmitz Cargobull refrigerated Trailers. The sustainability of transport is essential for the long-term health of the planet and its inhabitants. To achieve this, the transport industry must adopt green technologies and practices, such as reducing emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and promoting sustainable transportation modes. These efforts are necessary to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of transportation, including air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and the depletion of natural resources. ALS work with our fleet providers in alternative fuels including CNG, LNG, Electric, Hydrogen, and other forms of carbon producing alternatives.

As a stakeholder in the haulage sector, we recognize our responsibility to reduce CO2 emissions and mitigate the negative impacts of our operations on the environment. We commit to implementing sustainable practices that reduce our carbon footprint, such as investing in fuel-efficient vehicles, optimizing routes to reduce fuel consumption, and using alternative fuels where possible. We will continuously monitor and measure our emissions and strive to improve our performance through ongoing innovation and collaboration with industry partners. We will also work with our customers and suppliers to encourage sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. By taking these actions, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable future for our business, our customers, and the planet.

Responsibility whilst still using greenhouse gas emitting fuels are monitored and managed by a team of driver trainers though SAFED lead training and ensuring all our drivers deliver the highest MPG numbers for the type of deliveries and roads used, along with new fleet complying to the last euro standards.

Going Paperless – ALS with the Samsara fleet management platform is rolling out a complete paperless operation throughout 2023. We believe is new digital ways to get our systems running more efficiently, and combined with traceability and auditing functions will keep all information private and secure as well as available in a click. This reduces the need to print, file, and store document and cutting down our contribution to deforestation and paper use. ALS will work with our partners to reduce the need for POD’s and integrate their systems with ours.
