Your Team
Logistics Director – Phil Goodman
Our ALS management team has a wealth of experience that, with growth, have used their skills to introduce new talent into the logistics world.
We have identified that dialogue works well for both new and old as it allows a refreshing new perspective on how we can adapt existing practices with new ones to ensure confidence at all levels and deliver excellence to our customers.
Transport Manager – Simon Chitty
I head up the ALS operation with passion and professionalism. I started my career 21 years ago as a Heavy Goods Vehicle driver despite my background in Technology, Information Technology, and programming. Still, I took a career in logistics back then in a very analogue pen and paper system for a selection of blue chip companies and supermarkets.
I developed a passion for transport and the fresh and raw milk business. I have a strategic and customer service-driven mindset, delivering excellence, cost-effectiveness, and intuitive solutions to our customer’s needs.
I lead and work with my team to ensure you get the tailored solution you need.
Likes – The ability to create, develop, and customise computer systems to drive performance into the ALS logistics operation, driving safety, innovation, reliability and security for our customers.
Compliance & Health & Safety Manager – Paul Warren
I have worked in Logistics for 40 + years, 34 of these with Arla Foods as a driver, shift manager, Transport manager and Operations manager, covering several roles and responsibilities.
As the Compliance Manager, it is my responsibility to enforce policies and to ensure the legal and ethical integrity of the company. I am responsible for creating both long-term and short-term plans or goals to ensure that no illegal activities occur. This includes some of the below.
Conducting investigations to discover the root cause of compliance problems if and when they arise. Performing research to stay informed about changes in Legislation. Educating employees and partners through documentation and brochures on how to improve compliance. Examining and improving auditing processes to resolve compliance issues fast or prevent them entirely. Hosting meetings with employees to address any concerns that they may have about compliance matters within the operation. Motivating employees not only to strive to meet compliance standards but also to exceed them for operating efficiency. Supporting and helping in the design of programmes that improve compliance.
Transport Shift Manager – Andrew Banville
I started working with ALS in 2018 as an administrator. My background and previous jobs were very different to today’s ventures, but neither the less, I enjoyed the attention to detail and logistics as a business.
I was very interested and became more involved in the transport operation at ALS by suggesting new ways of working and synergies to improve the business. In 2020 I was given an opportunity to step up and become more involved with the overall operation which I took.
Now in 2023, I have been a substantial part of the growth and overall operation, supporting my Team in delivering excellence to our customers and ensuring our operation is always safe and compliant. I’ve recently undergone some training with ALS and am now part of the first aider team.
Daniel Lee Taylor – Driver Trainer
Hi, I’m Daniel, I am part of the ALS RTITB accredited Driver Training Team. I joined ALS in 2017 starting as part of the HGV Driver Team. I like to think I always took a professional and leading approach, and in 2022 was offered the opportunity to become part of the Driver Trainer Team.
My duty is to provide & deliver driver training in line with the compliance policy and in line with current law, to ensure that the statutory and operational requirements for safe and competent drivers are met.
I assess driving standards and to provide the appropriate feedback to develop driver skills and to enhance a safe working environment.
Severino Jose Da Silva Junior (Junior) – Driver Trainer
I am part of the Driver Trainer Team at ALS. I first started back in 2017 as a newly passed LGV Class 1 driver. ALS gave me an opportunity to build and grow my confidence and enjoyed with passion working for ALS. I always lead with a professional and thorough approach to every I do, so in 2022 the ALS Management Team offered me the opportunity to grow and put me through my RTITB driver assessor’s course.
I take a very forward thinking approach with all drivers. We have a lot of new drivers coming through the system since the new rule changes, so I take a welcome approach to the opportunity for new drivers to be supported and giving the opportunity to work for ALS with the correct training, guidance, and onwards support.
